Roma Necklace

The Roma necklace is a unique, handcrafted piece that combines natural elements and spiritual symbolism. It features hand-selected black obsidian beads in varying shapes and sizes, along with a Tibetan Dzi agate stone, hand-painted with the iconic “eye” motif. Silver-tone sun spacers are woven throughout the strand for texture and contrast. The necklace is centred with a 3 cm diameter Roman coin-style medallion, showcasing a raised saint on one side and a cross with inscriptions on the reverse. The pendant is made in Argentina, while the piece is assembled and beaded in our London studio.

The Roma Necklace is a bold, handcrafted statement piece rich in texture, symbolism, and story. Designed and beaded in our London studio, this one-of-a-kind necklace combines natural stones with spiritual and historical elements, offering both depth and style.

At its heart lies a striking Roman coin-style medallion, made in Argentina from a zamak or similar alloy. The 3 cm pendant features a raised saint on one side and a cross with detailed inscriptions on the reverse — a powerful nod to ancient iconography. Flanking it are silver-tone sun spacers that bring brightness and contrast to the strand.

The necklace is strung with hand-selected black obsidian beads in mixed shapes, offering grounding energy and bold texture. A Tibetan Dzi agate bead, hand-painted with the traditional “eye” motif, adds a spiritual dimension, believed to offer protection and insight.

Finished with a sturdy stainless steel clasp, the Roma Necklace measures approximately 50 cm in length, sitting comfortably along the collarbone. Like all Lucy Andy artisan jewellery, it is made in small batches, reflecting a commitment to intentional design and timeless craftsmanship.
